Alhambra - Former Cinema and Hotel Awakes in New Splendour

PROJECT

The cinema "Alhambra" in Berlin became famous in 1922 with the premiere of the world's first sound film. The later "Hotel Kurfürstendamm" was converted into an office and commercial building after a temporary vacancy. The symbiosis of history and modernity is already evident in the façade: in the lower area, the building was given back its original form with stucco and pilasters, while in the upper area it was extended with a modern, glass extension.

The offices and meeting rooms are partially decorated with stucco. But behind this lies modern technology: drywall heating-cooling ceilings with BEKA single-pipe technology ensure pleasant temperatures in winter and summer.
