In addition to adequate sound insulation, these room-in-room units also require their own climate control because the mostly small containers or noise protection cabins heat up faster than the rest of the office floor due to the insulation. The climate control system must be designed in such a way that a pleasant, quiet indoor climate can be guaranteed over a long period of time.
A popular, award-winning room-in-room solution is the vetroCube from woodtec. These systems use stand-alone cooling with BEKA capillary tube mats. The capillary tube mats are connected to a compact autonomous recooler, a chiller, or the building's existing cooling water network. The cooled water flows through the mats and absorbs the heat generated in the room-in-room system via a metal cassette ceiling. The water flows back to the chiller, the recooler, where it is cooled back to its initial temperature.
Depending on the size of the cube, the technical equipment, and the number of people, it can get slightly warmer in the cube than in the surrounding open-plan office despite very effective ventilation, so cooling can significantly increase comfort.
