Dry Lined Ceilings with Capillary Tube Mats

Lightness meets standard

The light BEKA capillary mats are simply placed on the suspended dry-lined ceiling. Because the individual capillary tubes are also very flexible, they provide good thermal conduction on the top side of the dry-lined panels even under the low weight of applied mineral fibre insulation. Simple design with excellent heat transfer.

Success does not need Heavy Technology

The BEKA capillary tube mats are extremely light and place hardly any loads on standard dry-lined construction. The capillary tubes lie on top of the gypsum plasterboard with a weight of just around 280 g/m2. Since a large number of the heat-conducting capillary tubes act simultaneously, no additional heat-conducting profiles are used. The capillary tubes nevertheless distribute the heat very evenly and quickly. In the case of perforated plasterboard panels, the acoustic effectiveness of the construction is not changed in any way by the application of BEKA capillary tube mats. To facilitate assembly and save time, BEKA offers the K.GK10 capillary tube type for dry-lined construction applications.

Advantages of Dry Lined Ceilings with Capillary Tube Technology

  • Factory-made capillary tube mats in the required dimensions
  • Simple and time-saving installation
  • Good price-performance ratio

Good Preparation – Simple Installation

BEKA capillary tube mats can be quickly and securely installed in suspended dry-lined ceilings constructed according to standard dry-lining specifications.

BEKA manufactures the capillary tube mats in terms of their length and width to precisely match the dimensions of the CD substructure. The capillary tube mats are simply attached to the already mounted CD profiles using special clip hooks. The clip hooks prevent the mats from falling down and at the same time position the capillary tube mats precisely in the internal space between the support profiles. Thermal insulation is laid over the capillary tube mats if desired or required. The connection of the capillary tube mats to one another and the combination of the individual capillary tube mats to the control zones is best achieved via plug-in connectors or by means of thermal plastic welding. After a short pressure test to monitor installation water-tightness, the dry-lined panels are screwed as usual to the CD support profiles in accordance with manufacturer specifications.

As an alternative to suspended mounting, the BEKA B.GK12 prefabricated unit can also be screwed directly onto the CD support profiles as a dry-lined ceiling. The prefabricated unit is a sandwich structure consisting of a plasterboard panel backed with a capillary tube mat embedded in polystyrene thermal insulation. The B.GK12 prefabricated unit is available for use in ceilings in the standard dimensions 2,000 mm x 600 mm or 1,500 mm x 600 mm. The prefabricated units are connected via flexible hoses and plug-in connectors.

The light capillary tubes are laid on the top side of the plasterboard panels. The low weight of the applied mineral wool thermal insulation reinforces the effect.
